Dreaming of a cool, shady beach house surrounded by trees? Dick Clark Architecture introduces Lake LBJ Retreat located not so far from Marble Falls, Texas. Built on a peninsula which was once used as a private fishing camp during the late 20th century, this house offers us everlasting peacefulness reflected on most of its corners. The trees that surrounds the area in which the house is constructed makes us feel the sense of serenity in harmony with local environment. The illustration might remind us to remote houses standing in the middle of the forest we usually see in some movies. The use of dark grey, brown, and light beige colors for exterior design supports the shady image that the house possesses. When the surroundings is getting dark, the light coming from the residence’s inner part can be seen through huge glass windows and make the house look even more dazzling at night.
The huge glass windows at most parts of the house opens up the amazing views of the beach and builds connection between what’s inside and what’s outside. In the bedroom, for example, the white bed is directly faced with the beautiful scenery that can be seen through the huge window. Even two arms chairs next to the bed are positioned face to face with the window. This creates such a stunning spot for having a little chit-chat, even deep conversation with family or friends. The white curtain is provided there to transform the bedroom into a more private space whenever it’s necessary.
A white, cozy sofa in the family room also directly face the beach’s scenery—a more than just comfy spot to sit on for hours. As what I mentioned previously, most of the house’s corners demonstrate us the extraordinary panorama of the beach through the huge glass windows. It is also noticeable that there are always armchairs or sofa placed near those windows. This might aim to create a semi-private spots in which people can sit and think without getting any distraction like seeing indoor activities performed by other residents. A stunning living room with white sofa is ready to warmly welcome any guests coming. Last but not least, whenever we want to feel the fresh air, some deckchairs along with cushions put on it are waiting for us out there.
